Dr. Abu Sadat Md. Sayem received the BSc degree (First class Honours with first merit position) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology, Bangladesh in 2011, the MSc degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology, Bangladesh in 2015 and the PhD degree (with the Vice-Chancellor's Commendation for Academic Excellence) in Electronic Engineering from Macquarie University, Australia in 2021.

Dr. Abu Sadat Md. Sayem is currently working as an associate professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering since 2015. Before that, he worked as an assistant professor and lecturer in the same department. His current research interests include wearable antennas, flexible antennas, transparent antennas, reconfigurable antennas, antennas for biomedical applications, and metamaterials for antenna beam steering. Dr. Sayem is a reputed international researcher in the field of wearable antennas. He has experience working with both academia and industry. Dr. Sayem regularly reviews papers for top-class journals of antennas and microwave engineering, including IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, IEEE Antennas and Wireless Propagation Letters, and IET Microwaves, Antennas & Propagation. Dr. Sayem worked as a session chair and member of the reviewers' panel in top-class international conferences, e.g.  International Workshop on Antenna Technology, 2022; Asia Pacific Microwave Conference, 2021 and International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation, 2021. Dr. Sayem has extensive experience in antenna design for wearable applications, high-power applications, and beam steering.

Dr. Sayem is a recipient of several prestigious awards and scholarships, including the Vice-Chancellor's Commendation on PhD thesis, the Commonwealth Government-funded International Research Training Program Scholarship to support the Ph.D. in Australia, the Prime Minister Gold Medal from Bangladesh, and the University Gold Medal from Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology, Bangladesh.
